Best Halloween Squishmallows to Celebrate Spooky Season

What's squishy, snuggly and spooky all at the same time? Halloween Squishmallows, of course. You probably don't need another, but we're shoving at least one festive Squish into our Halloween budget.
We rated our 20 favorite Halloween Squishmallows, including some newly released ones, using two metrics: spookiness level and snuggle factor, with 10 being the highest possible score for each, and a combined maximum Squish score of 20.

20. The Hocus Pocus Squad

The Hocus Pocus Squishmallows collection is a guaranteed hit for 1980s and '90s babies. For anyone, really, since the 1993 movie "Hocus Pocus" is an iconic Halloween film.
All three witches, Winifred, Mary and Sarah are available as 5-inch Squishmallows. They don't look very spooky, but we know what they're really capable of.
They got a low snuggle factor since they only come in small sizes, but they make adorable decorations.
19. Alder the Owl

Alder the owl loves the great outdoors. This owl Squishmallow tries to look spooky with her orange witch hat, but she's not fooling anyone. She invites friends camping all the time and packs extra pillows to make her tent cozy as can be.
She was just released in 2022, and only comes in the 12-inch size.
18. Halloween Mickey and Minnie

The Disney squad has included dozens of variations on classic Disney characters. Minnie and Mickey both come in Halloween versions, with Mickey dressed as a vampire complete with sharp, pointed teeth, a cape and a matching red bow tie.
It would be spookier if we didn't know who it really was.
17. Calio the Cat

There are several black Squishmallow cats that make sense for fall, but Calio likes to celebrate most of all. Dressed in her charming pumpkin costume, she's on the edge of her seat waiting to sneak out the cat door and go trick-or-treating on Halloween.
The only thing she doesn't like? Sour candy.
She was released in 2022, only in the 3.5 inch, 5 inch and 8 inch sizes.
16. Detra the Octopus

Ranging from 8 inch to 24 inch in size, this 2021 Halloween Squishmallow is perfect for snuggling. She has enough squishy tentacles to hold your hand and make you a costume at the costume shop she works at at the same time.

15. Cannon the Candy Corn

Cannon the Squishmallow, a member of the 2019 Halloween squad, is the definition of irony. He's made of pure sugar and stuffing, but don't tell him that.
He's a wellness coach who spends his free time teaching his friends and young trick-or-treaters how to eat healthily. Splurging now and again is good for you too, so he shares his famous caramel apples every Halloween.
14. Timmy the Pumpkin

The Halloween squad wouldn't be complete without a pumpkin or two. There are several Squishmallow pumpkins, but Timmy's sweet face melted our hearts.
He loves hosting parties and telling funny knock knock jokes, and his 16-inch size is perfect for snuggling on chilly fall nights.
13. Johanna the Witches' Brew

Johanna is all smiles on the outside, but what's brewing on the inside? No one knows. She's a big batch of witches brew, which definitely ups the spook factor.
She might be filled with soup, but maybe it's poison. Who's to say? She loves cooking, so make sure to win her trust before you let this 2022 Squish serve you a meal.
12. Buffy the Bat

Buffy the Bat is one of the spookiest Squishes imaginable. She's bright red, giving her a devilish appearance that's emphasized by her pointed white fangs.
While she looks like a vampire bat, her friends know that all she really tears into is the basket of fruit she collects every day in the woods.
If she's not snacking or exploring, she's baking the freshly picked berries into tasty fruit pies.
11. Tangie the Bat

Tangie the bat isn't quite as creepy as Buffy, but her larger size gives her the edge in the snuggle department. She's still learning to fly, but her hard work is setting her up to become the fastest bat in class.
She was only available in the 12-inch size in 2021 at Walgreens, so finding this bright, shiny Squishmallow is tough.
10. Demi the Owl

Hoo's there? Phew, it's just Demi the owl. His jet black, pointed ear tufts and red feathers intimidate woodland trespassers, but as long as you're kind to the forest critters, he'll be kind to you.
This 16-inch Squishmallow just came out in 2022, but he's already busy picking apple and exploring the autumn woods.
9. Dionne the Gargoyle

Dionne the Gargoyle is a pro at board games, with one slight problem. His powerful wings tend to knock over the pieces by mistake. Fortunately, his friends are patient with him and have been helping him control his episodes of fire hiccups.
His orange ombre look and round, black eyes match pretty much any Halloween display, but he's also a big fan of cuddling on the couch and watching scary movies.
8. Aldron the Plague Doctor

After 2020, Kelly Toys decided it was high time to add another spooky friend to the Squishmallow lineup: a creepy looking plague doctor.
His name is Aldron, and while he looks scary, his heart is as sweet as can be. He volunteers at an animal shelter, bottle feeds baby kittens and works at a local coffee shop.
His specialty is making ultra-sweet pumpkin spice lattes. Yum.
7. Madeleine the Witch

Meet Madeleine, also known as Maddie, a friendly witch learning the art of spookiness. She loves getting her nails done, selecting a vibrant shade of purple to match her hair. She's still little, so when she goes trick-or-treating on her broomstick, her big brother comes along to help carry her candy.
We love that she comes in everything from a tiny 3.5-inch size to the snuggly 16-inch size, so you can pick between keeping her as a cupholder companion in the car or a cozy snuggle buddy.
6. The Nightmare Before Christmas Squad

Disney lovers will go gaga over this one. In 2021, Squishmallows teamed up with Disney to launch an entire squad of Nightmare Before Christmas Squishmallows, including Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie and several more.
They range in size from 5 inches to 12 inches, and all of them are delightfully dark. Tim Burton would be proud.
5. Wade the Werewolf

Wade, a brown werewolf Squishmallow, has a tendency to scare fellow Squishmallows without meaning to. He's big and fluffy, and his pointed ears and sharp teeth definitely look scary.
In reality, he's a big softie who just wants to make people happy. He even plays the violin to fill the woods with music and kick off a round of Halloween dancing.
4. Benny the Bigfoot

Whether you believe in Big Foot or find the myth a little terrifying, you'll love Benny. He's a friendly Big Foot who spends his days frolicking in the forest with his friends.

He comes in all sizes from 2 inches to 24 inches for a variety of snuggle options. His fluffy, soft fur makes the experience even better.

Emily the bat tops our list as the best Halloween Squishmallow. She's got it all. She's jet black, with eyes that pop, tiny wings, and white fangs that look positively petrifying.
She's a master of the skies, flying in the dead of night to analyze the planets and stars with her tiny telescope. She's practicing to become an astronomer, and makes fun horoscopes for her friends in her spare time.
