Celebrity Couples Who Stole the Spotlight at the CMAs
Country music fans gathered to watch the 2019 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards on Nov. 13. For the 12th consecutive year, the star-studded show was hosted by Carrie Underwood. but instead of Brad Paisley by her side she was flanked by icons Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton. Highlights included Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus' "Old Town Road, which is the longest-running No. 1 song on Billboard's Hot 100, and Underwood being nominated for the Entertainer of the Year award along with Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, Keith Urban and Garth Brooks (who ended up winning the trophy).
Still, we enjoy these shows as much for the red carpet as for the performances, eagerly watching country musicians and their partners step out together in their finest designer garb. This year, not only did performers show off some of the latest styles, but they also proved that celebrity love is very much alive (at least in Nashville).
Here are just a few of the sweetest and best-dressed couples from 2019's country showdown.
Morgan Evans and Kelsea Ballerini
Before performing an emotional and acoustic version of "Homecoming Queen," Female Vocalist of the Year nominee Kelsea Ballerini joined her partner and fellow country singer Morgan Evans on the red carpet.
Miranda Lambert and Brendan Mcloughlin
Newlyweds Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin looked stunning. The Female Vocalist of the Year nominee performed at the show, where ex-husband Blake Shelton won Single of the Year for "God's Country."
Tanya Tucker and Buddy Quaid
Buddy Quaid, the brother of fellow actors Randy and Dennis Quaid, accompanied country-music legend Tanya Tucker, sharing a kiss on the red carpet.
Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten
"Dancing with the Stars" partners Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten keep the rumor mill circulating as they attend — and look adorable at — the CMAs. The former "Bacherlorette" star and DWTS professional dancer swear they are just friends.
Josh Kerr and Tae Dye
Tae Dye of Maddie & Tae, nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year, arrived with CMA-nominated songwriter and producer Josh Kerr. These two are more than a songwriting pair, the couple just got engaged in September. Congrats!
Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd
Maren Morris arrived as the CMA's most nominated artist for 2019. Her album "Girl" won Album of the Year. Morris is absolutely glowing with her partner and fellow country-music singer and songwriter Ryan Hurd — she should be, as she's expecting the couple's first baby in March!
Dustin Lynch and Kelli Seymour
Singer Dustin Lynch introduced the world to his new girlfriend, Kelli Seymour, who looked stunning in a sheer floor-length gown.
Walker Hayes and Laney Beville Hayes
As parents of six children, you can tell by the smiles on singer Walker Hayes and wife Laney Beville Hayes' faces that they were loving this date night!
Renee Blair and Jordan Schmidt
Country singer Renee Blair and songwriter and music producer Jordan Schmidt look stunning on the red carpet. Schmidt has helped Blair write some of her hit songs. You know what they say, "The couple that writes songs together stays together."
Deanna Carter and John McPhail
Deana Carter definitely shaved her legs for this event honing in on women in country music, arriving with new husband Jim McPhail.
Dierks Bentley and Cassidy Black
We don't know which we love more, Dierks Bentley's velvet jacket or wife Cassidy Black's beautiful (and mostly sheer) dress. After 14 years together, this couple still wows.
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman
Speaking of couples, could Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban be any cuter? The Australian powerhouse couple shared kisses and held each other close before heading inside for the show. Urban was nominated for Entertainer and Male Vocalist of the year. He didn't win either but still went home with gold.
Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood
CMA's Entertainer of the Year, Garth Brooks, and wife Trisha Yearwood color-coordinated for the big event. The reigning statesmen of country music have always been an adorable couple, and will soon be celebrating 15 years of marriage.
Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher
Carrie Underwood has got legs and she knows how to use them! Her red-carpet look beside husband Mike Fisher was our favorite of her wardrobe changes.
Carly Pearce and Michael Ray
Carly Pearce, nominated as New Artist of the Year, sparkles beside another Nashville newcomer, Michael Ray. We are sure we'll be seeing this just-married duo at a lot more future CMAs!
Jessie James Decker and Eric Decker
We just love when couples goof around on the red carpet and show they are just like us! Six years of marriage for country-crooner Jessie and former football-pro Eric and they're still having a laugh.
Kasey Musgraves and Willie Nelson
So they aren't a couple, but we couldn't resist adding Kacey Musgraves and Willie Nelson, because performing "The Rainbow Connection" together was just too good to be true!
Randy Travis and Mary Davis
Country legend Randy Travis and his wife Mary Davis match it up in red and black at the 53rd annual CMA Awards.
Brandi Carlile and Catherine Shepherd
Wearing embellished pantsuits, singer Brandi Carlile and wife Catherine Shepherd were a perfect pair.
Chris and Lauren Lane
Less than a month after their wedding, Chris Lane and Lauren Lane (formerly Lauren Bushnell, of "Bachelor" fame) hit the award circuit. We can't decide what we love more, Chris's blue-and-black embellished suit or Lauren's sunshine-filled gown.
Jimmie Allen and Alexis Gale
Wearing yellow shoes that say "dad" and a pink gown in honor of a baby girl, singer Jimmie Allen and fiancée Alexis Gale joyfully let the world know they are expecting!
Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins
It's a family affair for singer and songwriter Thomas Rhett and wife Lauren Akins. Lauren is expecting the couple's third child to join sisters Willa Gray Akins (left) and Ada James Akins. Maybe this will be the family's Christmas card this year?
Jake Owen and Erica Harlein
Well if this isn't the look of love, we don't know what is! "Down to the Honkytonk" crooner Jake Owen and wife Erica Hartlein welcomed a little one in April and are both still radiant.
As songwriter for some of the tunes of CMA-nominated Dan + Shay, Jordan Reynolds is beaming on the red carpet. There must be a Baby Boom in Nashville as Reynolds' wife will soon be adding another little one to the city.
Jon Pardi and Summer Duncan
Jon Pardi had an exciting October: He released his new album "Heartache Medication" and got engaged to Summer Duncan. The couple celebrated both at this year's CMAs.
Zach and Crystal Williams
Christian artist Zach Williams performed at the CMAs with Dolly Parton. We wonder if wife Crystal was the reason he looked so calm and cool on the red carpet before singing with country's biggest star?
Luke Combs and Nicole Hocking
Luke Combs, with fiancée Nicole Hocking, beat out Maren Morris, Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay and Kacey Musgraves for Song of the Year. Was "Beautiful Crazy" about Hocking?
Danielle Bradbery and Brent Hernandez
Season 4 winner of "The Voice" looked smokin' hot. We are sure boyfriend Brent Hernandez loves his lady in red.
Scott McCreery and Gabi Dugal
"American Idol" Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery and wife Gabi Dugal match in sparkling gray attire and we have to say: This is a great look!
Mitchell Tenpenny and Megan Patrick
Singer Mitchell Tenpenny has been pushing for country radio to play more female singers, supporting his girlfriend Megan Patrick. (And may we say, Megan, this backless dress is a knockout!)
Devin and Leah Dawson
Devin Dawson, who first gained famed on YouTube for a Taylor Swift mashup, arrives with wife Leah. Both look stunning in black.
Maybe Jon Randall came straight from running errands, but we just love that he brought his daughter as his date.
Dan Meyers and Shay Mooney
Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay clean up great. We love the black-and-white opposite ensembles they're rocking here with wives Abby Law and Hannah Billingsley. The duo was nominated for numerous awards and performed at the ceremony — oh yeah, and won Vocal Duo of the Year.
Brantley Gilbert and Lindsay Ell
Lindsay Ell and Brantley Gilbert received a nomination for their song "What Happens in a Small Town." The two aren't a couple (Brantley's wife Amber just welcomed a baby girl in September) but did make a charming pair.
Brantley Gilbert and Amber Cochran
Here's Brantley with wife Amber Cochran at the CMAs. Can you believe she just had a baby two months ago?
Kix and Barbara Brooks
Kix Brooks of Brooks & Dunn and wife Barbara have mastered red carpet style after nearly 40 years of marriage.
Pink and Corey Hart
Pop singer Pink crossed over into country with her song "Love Me Anyway" with Chris Stapleton. Performing at the show, she brought the entire family for the event. Husband Carey Hart looks sleek in black, while children Willow and Jameson are decked out in country-rock attire. Too cute!
Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires
Musicians and husband-and-wife team Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires continue the black-and-white trend that was a mainstay of CMA fashion.
Kristin Chenoweth and Josh Bryant
Kristin Chenoweth breaks from the black-and-white trend in a pink gown with a ruffled tulle train. Chenoweth, who performed at the show, attended with her beau, Josh Bryant, a personal trainer to some of the world's best athletes.
Rodney Atkins and Rose Falcon
It's been five years of wedded bliss for the adorable crooner Rodney Atkins and his singer-songwriter wife Rose Falcon, who shared kisses on the red carpet. The couple are part of Nashville's baby boom and welcomed a boy in August.
Ross and Kaitlyn Copperman
Producing the nominated "Burning Man," Ross Copperman and wife Kaitlyn Copperman appear at the Wednesday night event.
Legendary Grand Ole Opry performer and prolific songwriter Bill Anderson has been a fixture at the CMAs since 1961. Anderson lost his longtime love, Vickie Salas, earlier this year but had a beautiful companion on his arm during the event.
Chris Janson and Kelly Lynn
The 11-year age gap between singers Chris Janson and Kelly Lynn initially shocked the country-music world, but after 11 years of marriage and four kids, this dynamic duo proves age is just a number.
Mac McAnally may be keeping mum about his girlfriend, but we think this esteemed songwriter has found himself a keeper — look at that smile!
Cassie Randolph and Colton Underwood
"The Bachelor" Colton Underwood surprised season 23 winner and girlfriend Cassie Randolph with a trip to the CMAs and a red carpet appearance for their first anniversary.
Craig Morgan and Karen Greer
Craig Morgan's "The Father, My Son and the Holy Ghost" is a tearjerker about the accidental death of his son Jerry Greer and a new release for the singer. He and wife Karen Greer were all smiles at the awards show.
Russell and Kailey Dickerson
The combo of brown and black? Russell Dickerson, we approve!
Frankie Ballard and Christina Murphy
Two years after getting hitched, Christina Murphy and Frankie Ballard are clearly still in the honeymoon period as they await the birth of their firstborn. Country-music star Ballard cohosted the CMA Awards red carpet special.

Singer Sara Evans and husband Jay Barker, a former college and professional quarterback, arrive at the show. One question? Where did Sara get those shoes?

Just over a year after their wedding, Brett Young and Taylor Mills welcomed a little girl on Oct. 21. Looking good, momma and papa!
Cody and Brandi Johnson
He's a little bit country and she's a little bit rock and roll. Singer Cody and wife Brandi bring flair to the CMAs.
