Chelsea Houska
Chelsea Houska-DeBour seemed like most teenage girls. She attended high school in Vermillion, South Dakota, and was a star on the school softball team. But that all changed when she became pregnant with her then-boyfriend, Adam, who wasn't very supportive of being a dad at the time.
Chelsea was one of five girls featured on the second season of the MTV show “16 and Pregnant.” It followed the life of Chelsea as she dropped out of school in her senior year and went into labor five weeks early. She gave birth to a daughter named Aubree Skye Lind and basically become a reality television, teen-mom sensation as she went on to star in "Teen Mom 2" and will star in the upcoming "Farmhouse Fabulous."
At 30, she has a growing family and a new business venture to boot — let's take a look at how she got there.
What Led to ‘Teen Mom 2’
After the success of "16 and Pregnant", the same five moms from season two began appearing on “Teen Mom 2.” Chelsea's storyline included her trying to juggle being a new mom with getting her GED and trying to fix her relationship with Adam.
She did earn her GED and she began attending beauty school. But the relationship with Adam began to crumble. Chelsea wound up in a custody battle with Adam for Aubree, and Chelsea won in early 2015, three years after the two split up.
In 2014, Chelsea got together with Cole DeBoer, who was introduced in season 6 of “Teen Mom 2” when they were getting serious and eventually moved in together. Chelsea lasted four more seasons on “Teen Mom 2” before she departed from the show in 2020 after 10 seasons.
Cole Changes Her Life
Not soon after they moved in together, Chelsea and Cole got engaged on Nov. 18, 2015, and they got married on Oct. 1, 2016. From there, the couple began to start their own family. They welcomed their first child, son Watson Cole DeBoer in 2017. On Aug. 29, 2018, they welcomed another child, Layne Ettie DeBoer. Then, on Jan. 25, 2021, Chelsea gave birth to daughter Walker June.
Chelsea mentioned in an interview with Us Weekly that Cole was the one for her. “Honestly, there’s just no one that I’ve met that’s so respectful and just nice and I trust him, which is a big deal because it’s hard for me to trust people or guys, mostly.”
Their New Show: ‘Farmhouse Fabulous’
Apparently, Chelsea and Cole are dying to get back in front of the camera. The parents of four children who met on “Teen Mom 2” are set to star in a new series on HGTV called “Farmhouse Fabulous,” although the title is a work in progress.
It will be a six-episode limited series to premiere in spring 2023 and will follow the couple as they start a renovation and design business to help couples in South Dakota makeover their homes while keeping up with their own children.
They got the idea after building their farmhouse in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Apparently, Cole will be focusing on the construction aspect, while Chelsea will tackle the design side of the operation.
Why Is She a Big Draw?
It looks like Instagram followers have taken a liking to Chelsea. As of June 2022, Chelsea had amassed 6.6 million followers on Instagram — far more than any of her fellow “Teen Mom 2” stars.
The reason for this could be two-fold. Chelsea went from being a teen mother and having a rough relationship to raising four kids with the man of her dreams. But she also has an outgoing personality, and she works hard at being grounded.
