The Cutest Moments Between Celebrity Parents and Their Kids
It’s nice to see celebrities on the red carpet, looking all glam in their best gear. But it’s even nicer to see them just hanging out like the regular people they are when you take away all the glitz. When it comes to famous folks who are also parents, their sweetest moments are often those with their kids — simply hanging out and having fun.
Of course, some celebrity kids get a taste of the limelight, too, so we had to include those once-in-a-lifetime moments in our roundup of the cutest moments between celebrity parents and their kids. Over to you, Ms. Lopez...
J.Lo and Daughter Emme Sing at the Super Bowl
Not many kids can claim to have helped their mom make a political statement in front of millions. But for 12-year-old Emme Maribel Muniz, her most recent take-you-kid-to-work day involved performing at the Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show with mom Jennifer Lopez.
The message was clear: Latinas are Americans, and they’re not going anywhere. Oh, and Emme showed she’s inherited Lopez’s pipes when she joined other kids in singing the Gloria Estefan classic "Let's Get Loud."
Beyoncé and Daughter Blue Ivy Twin in Paris
Nobody twins quite like Beyonce and her daughter Blue Ivy Carter.
Forget younger siblings Rumi and Sir (who actually are twins) — the superstar and her firstborn know how to rock those matching looks wherever they are: on a beach vacation, in Mom’s music video, at a movie premiere or sightseeing in Paris.
Reese Witherspoon and Daughter Ava Shoot a Draper James Campaign
Speaking of mom-and-daughter lookalikes, Reese Witherspoon and her daughter Ava Phillipe could actually pass for sisters. The close bond between them is obvious whatever they’re doing together.
In 2018, Witherspoon and Ava, who was then 18 years old, shot a campaign together for Draper James, Witherspoon’s clothing line. A video clip posted on Instagram showed how much fun the pair had.
Pink’s Speech at the 2017 MTV Music Awards
Pink’s daughter Willow Sage Hart wasn’t on stage with her when she performed at the 2017 MTV Music Awards, but footage showed the then six-year-old singing along in the audience.
And when Pink accepted the coveted Vanguard Award she paid tribute to her daughter, using her speech to encourage Willow to have confidence in herself despite any negativity she may face. “Baby girl, we don’t change,” said Pink, and the world cheered.
Angelina Jolie and Her Daughters at the Kids’ Choice Awards
Another unforgettable celebrity mom and kid awards show moment was Angelina Jolie’s appearance at the 2015 Kids’ Choice Awards. Jolie’s dates for the evening were her daughters Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt and Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, and the threesome clearly had a ball. After winning the Best Villain award for her performance in “Maleficent,” Jolie delivered an important message in her speech.
“I want to say that when I was little, like Maleficent, I was told that I was different,” she said. “I felt out of place — too loud, too full of fire, never good at sitting still, never good at fitting in. And then one day I realized something — something that I hope you all realize. Different is good. When someone tells you that you are different, smile and hold your head up and be proud.”
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson Lets His Daughter Paint His Nails
Proving that no man is too tough for a spot of pampering, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared a picture of himself getting a manicure from his daughter Jasmine Johnson. In the caption to his Instagram post, Johnson revealed that, when he told Jasmine he had to go to work, she replied, “No daddy you really need your nails painted.”
So, that’s exactly what happened.
Jimmy Kimmel Gets Some Support From His Baby Boy
In September 2017, when his son Billy was only five months old, late night host Jimmy Kimmel shared a cute pic of the tot giving him “support” as he wrote the show's opening monologue.
Billy was born with congenital heart disease, and by this stage, he had undergone one of three planned surgeries. Now two years old, Billy is “thriving.” “He thinks he’s Spider-Man now,” Kimmel told US Weekly in December 2019.
David Beckham Cuts His Daughter’s Hair
In July 2018, Harper Beckham went for the chop, losing her signature long plaits for a much shorter ‘do — and it was her famous father who wielded the scissors. David Beckham shared a black-and-white pic of the touching moment on Instagram and revealed that he wasn’t entirely happy about the new look. (His face said it all, which Harper, then age seven, seemed to find highly entertaining.)
Doting dad Beckham added that he “didn’t think it was possible for this little one to look anymore beautiful.”
Carrie Underwood’s Son Helps Out With Her Sound Check
Carrie Underwood doesn’t share pictures of her kids too often, so when they do pop up on her social media, you know it’s going to be special. In June 2019, the country music star shared an adorable snap of her four-year-old son Isaiah Michael Fisher on stage in Hershey, Pennsylvania, during a sound check.
“Had some extra special help with sound check today, so tonight’s show is bound to sound amazing!!!” Underwood captioned the pic.

In 2019, a photographer captured some incredible moments between Vivian, then six, and her dad after his team, the New England Patriots, won Super Bowl LIII.
Kanye and North West Catch Some Z’s on a Shopping Trip
When you gotta sleep, you gotta sleep, even in the middle of a shopping trip. Luckily for Kanye West and his eldest daughter North West, they were in a baby store when tiredness hit, so they managed to find some comfy spots to catch some z’s.
Mom Kim Kardashian was able to capture the cute moment and share it on Instagram, writing, “So today we went baby shopping with @johnlegend & @chrissyteigen Kanye & North were a little too quiet. We found them passed out in the middle of the store #TheRealLifeofPablo."
Alicia Keys Also Snoozes With Her Boys
Often, the most adorable pictures of our kids are when they’re asleep. In 2016, Alicia Keys recovered from the Labor Day holiday weekend sandwiched in a car between her stepson Kasseem Dean Jr. and son Egypt.
The singer captioned the sweet snap, "When the weekend catches up with you and the sleep hits you HARD... #laborday."

Mariah Carey’s Kids Are Always by Her Side
Mariah Carey’s eight-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan might be used to joining her on stage, but the best pics of the three of them are when Mom’s off-duty.
During the 2019 holiday season, Carey shared a series of fun-filled pictures from Aspen, Colorado, including one of her and Monroe on a sled with the caption, “Sliding into 2020.”
Serena Williams Braids Her Daughter Olympia’s Hair
In June 2019, tennis champ Serena Williams shared a picture of her braiding her daughter Olympia’s hair on Instagram. Williams revealed that she was “honored to share this bonding experience with my own daughter and add another generation of historic traditions.”
“Braiding started in Africa with the Himba people of Namibia,” she wrote in the caption. “We have been braiding our hair for centuries. In many African tribes, braided hairstyles were a unique way to identify each tribe. Because of the time it would take, people would often take the time to socialize. It began with the elders braiding their children, then the children would watch and learn from them. The tradition of bonding was carried on for generations and quickly made its way across the world.”
James van der Beek Hangs With His Tribe
Former “Dawson’s Creek” star James van der Beek is, by his own admission, “always exhausted.” And it’s no surprise — he shares five kids (Olivia, 9; Joshua, 7; Annabel, 5; Emilia, 3; and Gwendolyn, 19 months) with his wife Kimberly.
But it’s clear that this dad loves nothing more than spending time with his kids, from taking a road trip to just hanging out at home, drinking coffee.
Neil Patrick Harris Teaches His Kids to “Just Love”
Actor Neil Patrick Harris and his actor/chef husband David Burtka took their eight-year-old twins, Harper Grace Burtka-Harris and Gideon Scott Burtka-Harris, to the 2019 NYC Pride Parade, sharing some personal snapshots of the day on social media.

Witherspoon’s Son, Deacon, Gives Her a Lesson in TikTok
Since last September, Witherspoon’s teenage son Deacon has been teaching her about TikTok — it seems there’s a lot more to it than just videos of kids copying dance moves — and the latest installment involves “dapping.”
Not to be confused with “dabbing” – that’s so 2018 – “dapping” is “like a handshake that I do with my friends,” according to 16-year-old Deacon. Whether we understand it or not, the exchange between this famous mom and her kid is just the cutest.
Victoria Beckham and Romeo’s Kitchen Dance Party
“Not the average day in the kitchen,” Victoria Beckham captioned a December 2019 video of her dancing to her hit “Spice Up Your Life” with second-oldest son Romeo.
Certainly not many of us can relate to topping the pop charts all over the world then recreating the dance moves with our kids 20 years later. But we can all relate to those impromptu at-home bonding moments, which Beckham enjoys with all of her four kids on the regular.
Chris Hemsworth's Kids Watch Him on TV
When actor Chris Hemsworth is away from his kids, he can rely on his “little fan club cheering me on.”
While Mom (Elsa Pataky) and Dad had a night out at the 2017 Golden Globes, their three kids — India Rose and twins Sasha and Tristan — were snapped glued to the TV screen watching Hemsworth at work. The toy Thor sitting on the floor next to them makes this moment even cuter, if that’s possible.
Katie Holmes and Suri Make a Furry Friend
Katie Holmes doesn’t share a lot of photos of her 13-year-old daughter Suri Cruise, but when she does, they’re pretty special.
In March 2017, Holmes shared an adorable photo of her daughter, then 10, cuddling up to a baby kangaroo backstage at “Good Morning America.” Suri’s delighted face says it all.
Justin Trudeau and His Kids Get Creative
In April 2017, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau proved he was (yet again) #dadgoals when his wife Sophie shared a photo of him painting a mural with their children … in his PJs.

Chrissy Teigen Makes Bathtime a Family Affair
If there’s one celebrity mom that keeps it real, it’s Chrissy Teigen. She’s not afraid to prove that being a household name doesn’t make you immune from the tough — and tearful — parts of parenting.
But Teigen also celebrates the joyful little moments from daily life with her two kids, Luna Simone Stephens and Miles Theodore Stephens. Those even include communal baths.
Jada Pinkett Smith Gets “Grease in Greece”
It’s hard to decide what’s cuter — Willow Smith carefully applying Argan oil to her mom Jada Pinkett Smith’s roots or the eye-roll she gives dad Will (who is behind the camera) when he makes what can only be described as a “dad joke.”
“Ah, you’re putting grease in Greece,” he quips, and Willow reacts as any teenage daughter would.
Bedtime Stories With Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade
Gabrielle Union has said that story time is the “best part” of her day, and sometimes dad Dwayne Wade gets in on the act, too. In a sweet pic posted to Instagram in November 2019, the couple are reading the classic “Guess How Much I Love You?” to their baby daughter, Kaavia James Union Wade.
“Teach them well, and let them lead the way,” Union captioned her post.
